PURPOSE of United Methodist Women
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

UMW NEWS AND MISSION
HEALTH KITS: Please join Rachel Fellowship in collecting Health Kit items on a continual basis. Health Kits will be sent to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) who will disperse them during natural disaster. Please place items in the library. All items must be new.
- 1 hand towel 15” x 25” to 17”x 27” kitchen
cleaning and microfiber towels not acceptable - 1 washcloth
- 1 comb
comb needs to be sturdy and at least 8” long
no pocket combs or picks please
rattail combs and combs without handles are acceptable - 1 metal nail file or clipper
no emery boards or toenail clippers please - 1 bath size soap
3 oz. and larger sizes only all brands are acceptable
do not remove from original packaging - 1 toothbrush
adult size only do not remove from original packaging - 6 adhesive bandages
¾” to 1 “ size common household band aids - 1 plastic bag one gallon size
sealable bags only - $1.00 to purchase toothpaste
Meeting & Fellowship Changes in 2011: Memberships in each fellowship have changed. Please refer to your UMW phone/hand book to see who is in each fellowship. Fellowship meetings will continue to be held monthly. Unit Meetings will now occur four times a year and Board meetings will be held six times a year.
SUDAN: UMW School of Mission has studied Sudan. Read more about UM women in Sudan registering to vote for secession. And Lost Boys return for the vote. Update: South Sudan became an independent state on July 9, 2011 and a member of the United Nations on July 14, 2011. Please continue prayer for this nation, one of the poorest in the world.

GARDEN STREET COOKS: A cookbook of recipes collected from the church community. Funds go to UMW mission projects. Pick one up for $12 or have one mailed for $18. Call or email the church office.
